Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope is defending the move to no longer post the results of beach tests in Chatham-Kent. That move was announced in the spring, since that time, beaches across Windsor and Essex have been closed more than 60 percent of the time, all the while beaches in CK are open. Hope says he and the rest of members of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative are working on a standard set of  beach guidelines. For his part, the Mayor says he hasn’t heard of any confusion or complaints regarding the new system.
