The provincial government is promising new money to area hospitals to reduce emergency room wait times. The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is in line for nearly $800,000. The money will help the hospital track patient flow and hire nurse practitioners to treat and discharge patients. Chatham-Kent-Essex M-P-P Pat Hoy says the government is working to ensure ERs are running as smooth as possible. The three hospitals in Windsor-Essex are sharing $2.5-million. The province is spending $100-million on the initiative this year.
